In this engaging taster workshop, you’ll explore the traditional technique of hand engraving. Guided by an experienced tutor, you’ll receive live demonstrations that showcase the fundamentals of engraving. With personalised, one-on-one support, you’ll learn to handle traditional push tools and apply techniques to create intricate patterns and designs on copper. Whether you’re a complete beginner or simply curious about this art form, this session is designed to inspire creativity and build confidence.
During the workshop, you’ll create your own engraved copper piece, featuring designs of your choice. This could range from geometric patterns to freehand drawings, depending on your style and interest. Your finished piece will serve as a beautiful keepsake and a reflection of your newly learned skills.
  • Engraving with traditional push tools: Learn how to handle and manoeuvre push tools to carve clean, precise lines into copper.
  • Design planning and execution: Learn how to transfer designs onto your copper piece.
  • Tool control and technique: Develop fine motor skills to engrave with accuracy and confidence, including how to adjust pressure and angles for different effects.
