In this workshop, you will delve into the charming world of hand embroidery, discovering basic stitches and how to blend embroidery floss to craft visually rich textures. As a beginner, no prior knowledge is necessary for this creative journey. You will embrace the beauty of a slow craft practise, relishing the unpredictability of the results and the individuality of your work, thinking embroidery as a drawing practice.
During the session, you'll receive practical demonstrations on basic stitches such as running stitch, back stitch, chain, seed, French knots and more, along with personalised guidance when needed, ensuring you feel supported as you explore this art form. The class will equip you with essential skills, teaching you how to combine colours and textures to create stunning embroidered pieces. The transformative nature of this experience allows you to connect with your creative side and produce unique handcrafted creations.
All materials will be provided, and you will take home a handout to support your continued learning. Embrace this opportunity to learn a new skill, express your creativity, and indulge in the therapeutic process of hand embroidery. Join me in this enriching activity, where you can immerse yourself in the joy of creating something beautiful with your own hands.
My warm and welcoming environment is perfect for beginners, as well as for intermediate students or those who'd like to push their skills further. I am an experienced artist and tutor and will happily guide you through each step of the process with patience and encouragement.

I am a visual artist and arts educator working with colour, textiles, minerals, clay, seeds, flowers and pigments that I carefully gather from plants around me and nearby.
I specialise in sustainable wellbeing workshops and creative mindful sessions for community groups, CPD and staff training for small companies and institutions.
I have been working with natural dyes since 2019 and have an extensive experience planning and delivering creative and engaging sustainable workshops for people of all ages and many backgrounds.
I see these experiences as tools for learning but also for grounding and reflection that aim to connect with ourselves and with others in a supportive, non judgemental safe space. Interested in mental health and wellbeing, I nurture environments where people can reach a deeper level of understanding of their feelings and emotions, allowing time for play and exploration with a focus on the process of making and collective learning.
