How a Knot will change your life!

Hello, My name is Glen and I would like to introduce you all to the wonderful world of Furoshiki and how a simple knot will change your life, by not only providing you with the means to produce the most wonderfully wrapped gifts, but also, in doing so, show you how to be much more creative when wrapping gifts whilst, at the same time, being ecologically and environmentally friendly.
Come to one of my interactive workshops and allow me to teach you how a square piece of material can turn into a piece of art and change the way you wrap gifts for the rest of your life.

I had a really interesting and fun time at Glen's workshop learning how easy it is to wrap gifts using Furoshiki was a real eye-opener.
Glen has a great way of teaching you all about these Japanese knots, whilst highlighting the many advantages there are in our daily lives for using it. I found it very interesting.
The venue was very spacious with a kitchen so that we could make tea.
He also provided some of his home- made lemonade and Japanese snacks which were delicious.
This 3-hour workshop is great value for money and I will be using these skills to wrap my Christmas presents this year: a cheap box of chocolates will become something special.

My friend bought me a gift for my 60th birthday, which she told me had been wrapped by this guy recommended to her by a friend called Glen, who wraps gifts using traditional Japanese Furoshiki .
The gift was so exquisitely wrapped, I refused to open it at the party, favouring instead to show everyone just how beautifully wrapped the gift was.
Then, when the same friend told me that she had seen Glen's workshop advertised online , I booked straight away.
And boy, was I happy that I did.
The workshop was a great fun and Glen was very skilled in the art of Furoshiki, but also very patient, not just with me, but in giving all of us the personal attention needed to master what was being taught, in an easy to understand way.

Glen taught us 3 different styles of wrapping and provided us all with a large choice of beautiful African style fabrics, which can be used to wrapped any shape or size of gift, which I think will become very useful when I'm wrapping my Christmas presents.

At first, I did think the £45 pound was a little expensive for the class, but Glen had clearly put a lot of effort and care into his class, even providing us with his homemade lemonade, delicious, and an ample supply of Japanese snacks, I now don't think the price is expensive at all!

Teacher's response

Hi Julia,
How wonderful to finally meet someone whom I have wrapped for and to know just how much you enjoyed receiving your Furoshiki wrapped gift was very rewarding. Thank you.
I am very happy to hear that you will take the suggestion forwarded during the workshop and use them to wrap Furoshiki style from now on and yes, I very much look forward to receiving photos and insights into the gifts you wrapped Furoshiki style too. It was lovely to meet you. Thank you again. Regards Glen

I was amazed by Glen's teaching ability and his patience with the students.
Glen has chosen a venue with plenty of space for each participant to work on their own Furoshiki, without knocking elbows with each other, which I was very happy with.
I was really delighted with the options and colours and design of fabric provided by Glen. His methods in selecting the fabrics were really interesting and the end result demonstrated just how much thought and dedication went into the materials used. Thank you Glen
Overall I am really happy with the cost of the class and overall, I think the class is great value for money, for a 3 hour workshop with lots of delicious home-made lemonade and original Japanese snacks.
I was really surprised by how effective wrapping gifts in cloth is, rather than paper and Glen's total knowledge with regards to the Japanese tradition of not throwing anything away and utilising everything, known as 'motainai' in Japanese was very enlightening as well as educational.
Glen was exceptional and made the class very interesting, educational and a lot of fun! So much so, I will be going again.
