  • 5/5 from Julia Ruxton, attended Nov 2023: I went to a gelli printing class and it was very well organised with masses of information clearly conveyed in a short space of time without feeling daunting. Armi had lots of resources ready for us both for inspiration and use (stencils, masks, a huge variety of things for making marks in the paint as well as different types of medium and loads of different substrates to try) and she happily picked leaves from her beautiful garden as well. She is a great teacher (and artist) and there was a lovely atmosphere - I think all 6 participants would say we had a wonderful time. There was space to learn from each other and review what we were all doing while we had a break for coffee and a delicious home-made cake. The studio is fabulous - it's almost worth going just to see the house and garden! It is also only a 20 minute walk from the train station - a bus would get you even closer so easily accessible without a car.

I have taught in an art school to post 16’s for over 25years and I have run my small business at no5 workshops for about 4 years now. Printmaking workshops take place in my large home studio set in a beautiful gravel garden in East Molesey, Hampton Court. Along the way I have encouraged dozens of people to create and take home beautiful prints to be proud of. I have collaborated with Liberty’s design teams for their day away print workshops providing lunch and a day long structured programs. I’ve taken my workshops into schools and colleges and also taught at Westdean. When I’m not teaching I am working my own mixed media print and textile pieces which I’ve sold at the wonderful Petersham Nurseries homeware shop in Richmond and artist open studios and galleries.
