Gel Plate and Monoprint Workshop

Giving printmaking a twist in this fun and experimental workshop, we'll be learning how to create monoprints (one-of-a-kind prints).The session will be split into two parts:First, we'll practise with gel plates and learn how to make beautiful and unique prints. This is a great technique if you want to practise pattern-making, making papers to use in collages/journals, or if you want to make vibrant pieces using acrylic paint.Later, we will move on to using printmaking inks spread thinly on a tray, and we'll make monoprints. This type of printing is very close to drawing, and it's very fun to see the different images that come out.For both techniques, we'll have the chance to practise on loads of different papers and make the most unique colour combinations to best reflect your creativity.All materials are covered; you only have to come willing to learn new techniques and have fun! Mina, your host, is an artist and printmaker with 10+ years of experience and will guide you throughout the session. The studio is an intimate creative space with only four seats, so conversation flows and you get very personalised guidance.If you're a beginner, don't overthink it and join us!
