What you'll do
Experience the joy of fused glass at this taster workshop in Salisbury. Guided by your passionate teacher, you'll learn all the glass fusing basics to get you started with this unique DIY hobby.
Over two hours, you'll make two designs, a suncatcher and a coaster or picture-sized design. We'll explore the basic process of kiln-formed glass, using your teacher Linda's templates and pre-cut shapes. You can even add metals, granules and glass beads to give your designs texture.
This workshop is designed for complete beginners and there'll be plenty of opportunity for one-on-one guidance. This could be the first step towards a new hobby, discovering your own creative talent or just having some fun with friends in a relaxed atmosphere.
At the end of the class, you'll have the confidence, knowledge and skills to continue crafting with fused glass. Your designs will be ready to collect 10 days after the session or they can be posted to you for an additional cost of £8.
Knowledge required
No experience necessary. Suitable for beginners and those who have worked with glass before.

Linda has been a glass artist for over 20 years, based at her workshop near Cranborne, Dorset.
Linda explores the traditional techniques of stained glass, copper foil ‘tiffany’, mosaics and glass fusing. Captivated by the light, texture and colour combinations of glass, she has developed a range of vibrant contemporary designs.
These include, framed tiffany pictures and sun catchers, vibrant fused glass jewellery, and fused glass hangings, coasters and bowls.
Her work is inspired by the natural forms and colours.
