Hi, I’m Geanina – a pastry chef with over 30 years of experience, and co-founder of Prestige Patisserie in North London. My love for baking began in my grandmother’s kitchen back in Romania. I still remember the scent of freshly baked sweet breads and the magic of watching simple ingredients transform into something beautiful. That early spark never left me.
After moving to London, I decided to turn my lifelong passion into a profession. I trained, worked hard, and eventually opened my own patisserie – a place where I could pour my heart into every creation. In 2021, I had the honour of reaching the semifinals on Bake Off: The Professionals, and my cakes have since been featured on TV and awarded Great Taste Awards. One of my proudest moments was filming with Adam Richman and sharing my signature Medovik Cake with him – a cake we rest for 12 hours to achieve the perfect melt-in-the-mouth texture.
Teaching has become one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey. I love welcoming people into our kitchen and sharing the skills and secrets I’ve spent decades honing. Whether it’s showing someone how to pipe their first perfect macaron or helping them build confidence with pastry, seeing that “lightbulb” moment never gets old.
I believe baking is both an art and a form of connection – and there’s something so powerful about making something with your hands, sharing it, and watching someone enjoy it. That’s what I hope to pass on in every class.
Over the years, I’ve taught hundreds of students – from complete beginners to seasoned home bakers – and I also offer one-to-one classes and host private team-building workshops. My classes are always hands-on, fun, and designed to leave you with skills (and treats!) you’ll be proud of.
