Flower Printing Textiles Workshop

Discover hapazome, or how to print fresh flowers and leaves onto natural textiles at this London printing class.

2 hours Class size 3 to 15 guests

£40 (£70 per class surcharge applies for private classes) (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Join this hapazome textile printing workshop in London and discover the art of transferring fresh flowers and foliage onto fabric. You'll learn how to create beautiful, lasting prints using seasonal leaves and petals on specially treated textiles. Focus on composition, shape, and colour palettes as you craft your own unique pieces to take home.
If you're a first-timer, you'll fit right in. Your teacher will guide you through the process step by step, encouraging you to experiment and play with your designs in a supportive, friendly environment. Expect a hands-on experience with practical demonstrations and help whenever you need it.
Working with an array of plant-based materials is a wonderful way to switch off, and the process is quite cathartic as you watch the natural pigments unfold before you. You'll work with an experienced artist and tutor who will help you feel at ease throughout the session.
  • Learn how to transfer fresh flowers and leaves – Master the technique of hapazome on fabric.
  • Explore visual compositions and plant pigments – Discover how to arrange your foliage for the best results.
  • Create your own designs and play with different patterns – Experiment with different botanical shapes.
  • Develop visually rich textures and colour combinations – Mix and match seasonal flora.
  • Use specially treated fabric to make your prints last longer – Ensure your handmade keepsake stays vibrant.
You'll leave the class with a fresh set of skills and your own stunning botanical creations. It's a feel-good way to spend a few hours, leaving you feeling inspired and proud of what you've made.
Please note: The nature of this technique can make things a bit noisy if there are more than five people in the class. The building has some steps and no ramps are available at the moment. This workshop might be photographed; please let your teacher know if you'd prefer not to be in any photos. If the listed times don't suit, feel free to request a different slot for a private booking or a public session.
What you'll get
A handout with relevant information, suppliers, links, tips and any samples you'd make.
Knowledge required
No previous knowledge is required; just bring curiosity, presence, and patience to the class. The rest will naturally unfold.
What to bring
I will be providing tools and materials, but feel free to bring fresh flowers and leaves from your garden, local park, or a bouquet that is not pretty enough for decoration. Dark flowers and soft leaves work best.

I am a visual artist and arts educator working with colour, textiles, minerals, clay, seeds, flowers and pigments that I carefully gather from plants around me and nearby.
I specialise in sustainable wellbeing workshops and creative mindful sessions for community groups, CPD and staff training for small companies and institutions.
I have been working with natural dyes since 2019 and have an extensive experience planning and delivering creative and engaging sustainable workshops for people of all ages and many backgrounds.
I see these experiences as tools for learning but also for grounding and reflection that aim to connect with ourselves and with others in a supportive, non judgemental safe space. Interested in mental health and wellbeing, I nurture environments where people can reach a deeper level of understanding of their feelings and emotions, allowing time for play and exploration with a focus on the process of making and collective learning.
