What you'll do
Join this relaxing, nature-inspired workshop and create beautiful 3D wire flowers inspired by dahlias, zinnias, and other summer blooms – ready to display in a vase and enjoy all year round.I'll teach you how to work with different gauges of copper or black wire and show you the various techniques and special tricks that bring your wire flowers to life. You'll have a gorgeous range of colourful glass beads to choose from to embellish and personalise each flower, making them entirely your own. How many flowers you create will depend on which techniques you fancy exploring and your own pace – there's no rush, just the rhythm of making something beautiful.Throughout the session, you'll receive full tuition and demonstrations guiding you through every step of the making process. All materials – wire, beads, and tools – are included, so you just need to bring yourself and your creativity.By the end, you'll have created a collection of unique wire flowers, each one a reflection of your choices and ideas. They're perfect to display together in a vase, bringing a touch of handmade nature into your home – or they'd make a thoughtful, one-of-a-kind gift for someone special.

Knowledge required
This class is beginner-friendly. You don't need any experience with wire work or craft workshops to enjoy it.
What to bring
- Your glasses if you usually wear them for reading or making
- Optional - a small bottle or vase (14-18cm tall) to build your arrangement in, don't worry if you don't have one you can borrow one for the workshop.

I'm Judith and I'm a designer maker and workshop tutor based in Leek, on the edge of the Peak District.Twenty years ago I started playing with wire and applying some of the techniques and ideas that I had developed on my degree course in Embroidery. In my twenty years as a maker I have honed my wire work techniques and I make a variety of wire jewellery and decorative wire flowers that I sell through galleries and contemporary craft events. I work from my studio above a quirky cafe. I have lots of teaching experience and have been running my own workshops from my studio and other venues since 2019.I am inspired by nature, and many of my ideas have been developed from observing and photgraphing wildflowers on walks around the Peak District.I love teaching and sharing my passion for making and knowledge with others.I can't wait to see what you will create!
