What you'll do
Measure and Cut
Learn how to take your own measurements and choose the right size for your pattern. If you fall between sizes, don’t worry—we’ll cover the basics of altering your pattern to fit you. Finally, you’ll learn how to prepare your fabric, transfer pattern markings, and cut out your project.
Don't worry you don't have to buy your fabric just yet we can discuss the best fabrics to suit your project and where to buy from in when you come.
Get Sewing
Now the fun really starts you’ll be working on your me made outfit .There will be plenty of guidance available whenever you need it.
Dressmaking Club
The fun starts every Wednesday evening at Hopton & Coton Village Hall
- Learn how to take accurate body measurements and understand body shape.
- Find your correct pattern size and make simple adjustments.
- Prepare fabric and understand lay plans.
- Cut out fabric and read pattern pieces with confidence.
- Sew different seams and learn essential dressmaking terminology.
- Pressing techniques for a professional finish.
- Make and complete your handmade outfit!
