Drawing Into Printmaking Course

Explore the relationship between drawing and printmaking on this hands-on 10-week course, made for beginners and intermediate students alike. Starting with drawing as your foundation, you'll discover how line, mark, tone and texture shift and transform as an image moves from paper to plate, block and print.Across the weeks, you'll work through monoprint, drypoint, relief printing and linocut, building your confidence with each new technique. You'll explore layering, repetition, reversal and colour, using test prints along the way to evaluate and refine your ideas – no printmaking experience needed, and every experiment, even the unexpected ones, is treated as part of the creative process. All materials are water-based and non-toxic, with full guidance on safe studio practice throughout.As your skills develop, you'll start combining techniques – monoprint with drypoint, or linocut with relief printing – to build your own distinctive visual style. By the final session, you'll have pulled together a resolved print or small series, ready to review, present and call your own.By the end of the 10 weeks, you'll walk away with a body of original prints and a stronger sense of how drawing and printmaking can work hand in hand in your creative practice.What You’ll Learn
