What you'll do
Come join us at Three Colts Tavern and learn the basics of crochet as you make your mini basket! At the end, learn how to make tassels and decorate your basket!Complete crochet beginners are welcome - I will complete the first 2 rounds of the basket for you, so you can focus on mastering stitch counting & double crochet! For crocheters with previous experience, you can start from the beginning!In this class, we'll be focusing on the double crochet stitch! It's totally at your own pace - you can make your basket as small or as big as you like! This workshop is ideal for people who have a little crochet experience already. Complete beginners are welcome, but please don't be disappointed if you can't finish your basket during this time - you will have all the materials and instructions to finish it at home! Crochet is a tricky skill to master, so it will take time and perseverance!No experience needed - our friendly instructor will guide you through the process, and all materials will be provided. It will be a little easier with some prior crochet experience (or even watching some youtube videos!) however the workshop can be adapted to complete beginners, it just may be that you might not be able to finish your basket! But you will have all the materials to complete it at home!

Hi, I’m Jo! I discovered my love of arts and crafts during lockdown, when I started experimenting with all sorts of creative hobbies. What began as a way to pass the time quickly grew into a real passion — I loved the sense of calm, focus, and joy that came from making something with my hands.Outside of crafting, I’m an English and Drama teacher, so teaching is in my nature. Combining these two passions felt like the perfect fit — and that’s how my beginner-friendly workshops began. My goal is to bring people together in a fun, engaging way where they can relax, get creative, and connect with like-minded people. I love teaching because it's so incredibly rewarding seeing students proud of their creations at the end of a workshop! It really makes my day! I love offering a wide range of workshops so there’s something for everyone — from candle making, macramé, and crochet, to painting, terrarium building, and more. Each class is designed to be beginner-friendly, welcoming, and social, so no one feels out of their depth. I have run public workshops as well as workshops for corporate clients and universities.For me, it’s not just about learning a new skill — it’s about creating an experience. People leave with something handmade they’re proud of, but also with new friends, confidence, and (hopefully!) a spark to keep being creative long after the workshop.
