What you'll do
Increasingly the police are using psychology to narrow the field of suspects. With this unique virtual class, you'll learn all about how and why.
So, if you're looking for some things to do at home to liven up your evening, grab your glass of wine or a hot cuppa, and settle in for an evening captivating crime exploration!
This virtual experience will be delivered by Steve Gaskin a former murder squad detective chief inspector at New Scotland Yard. He is also an adviser to BBC Silent Witness and a keen forensic psychologist.
During this unique virtual experience, you'll explore:
- What the science of offender profiling is.
- Some cases from the USA and UK.
- The story behind the UK's first offender profiler - Dr Thomas Bond.
- The latest offender profile on the Golden State Killer.
- The nature and character of Jack The Ripper.
You'll also be guided to draw up your own offender profile/psychological profile of the Victorian serial killer, Jack the Ripper.
This online class is delivered through Zoom. You will be able to see and hear your host Steve during your class. There will also be the opportunity to post questions that Steve will answer if time allows.
