Coloured Pencil

A colourful journey of expression and discovery.

1 hour Class size 1 to 2 guests

£25 - £29 (£29 per guest when you book for 1 guest, £25/guest for 2 guests) (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

The coloured pencil class is designed to be a calm and creative space where students can freely explore and express themselves. Throughout the sessions, you will learn all the essential skills, including colour mixing, understanding basic colour theory, layering techniques, light and shadow, depth, and surface. With these skills, you’ll be encouraged to use your creativity and personal interests to create your own unique work rather than simply copying an image.
This class isn’t limited to one strict technique or style. It’s flexible and adapts to each student’s rhythm and mood, making the learning process both enjoyable and personal. We start by working with monochrome pencils to strengthen your understanding of form and tone, then gradually move towards exploring the full world of colour.
A basic understanding of drawing is helpful, but don’t worry if you’re still developing your skills. We’ll build them together as drawing and coloured pencil techniques naturally connect throughout the lessons.

You don’t need any background for this session, as we’ll start with the basics and build your skills step by step.

I’m Nahal, an artist and tutor based in Newbury, with around seven years of professional experience in the art world. What began as a childhood fascination with pencils and colours has grown into a creative journey through exhibitions, publications, and years of sharing my passion with others.
At my studio, I guide beginners and intermediate learners through sketching, graphite pencil, coloured pencil, and oil painting. My workshops are relaxed, inspiring, and focused on building strong fundamentals while encouraging freedom and creativity. Students often find themselves progressing faster than they expected, enjoying the process as much as the results.
I believe that every artwork tells a story — a reflection of emotions, thoughts, and memories. For me, teaching art is not just about technique; it’s about helping people express themselves and rediscover the joy of creating something truly personal.
