Recent reviews of Classic Chinese Tea Desserts Class - Dates
5/5 from Johanna Kopra, attended Oct 2026: This class was spectacular. Very gently the teachers Simon and Hanna guided me through each step in the process of making the pretty tea desserts. It was so much fun! But not only did I learn techniques to bake the gorgeaous cakes. Throughout I learned about Chinese history and the traditional ways and customs related to tea and baking -- differences between how things were cooked at the emperor`s court and with ordinary people. A whole world of history opened up to me; I felt intrigued and have since booked an additional class with Simon and Hanna -- this time diving further into the world of tea. An unexpected moment while my cookies were in the ove: Simon demonstrated Chinese Calligraphy and the meaning of each stroke -- fascinating! It was delightful to be served tea in Simon`s and Hanna`s teaching kitchen. I look forward to my next class.
5/5 from Ferid Sedik, attended Mar 2026: We were in great hands, absolutely great experience, thoroughly enjoyed the class, learnt a lot as well about the history behind the dessert. Looking forward to coming back again for another recipe! Thank you for the great attention to detail!
5/5 from James Pymer, attended Jun 2024: I really enjoyed this class and I thought the teaching style was excellent making sure I got it just right. The history and geography behind the origin of tea was really quite fascinating and I really learned a thing or two. Overall I was pleased with my results and I’ll be trying another class in the future.
