Discover the beauty of traditional Chinese painting in this relaxed, artist-led workshop in London. You'll learn to use Chinese brushwork, expressive ink lines and delicate washes of colour to create your own landscape painting on a traditional fan. Inspired by the mountains, trees and tranquil scenery of classical Chinese landscape art, this workshop introduces you to the techniques behind this distinctive style, and no previous painting experience is needed.
Over the session, you'll learn how to handle a Chinese brush and create expressive lines, paint mountains, trees and landscape details, and combine ink and colour to build depth and atmosphere. You'll then bring everything together into a landscape composition of your own.
All painting materials and a fan for your artwork are provided, along with step-by-step demonstrations and individual guidance. A cup of jasmine tea is included too, so you can sip and switch off while you paint.
Whether you're completely new to Chinese painting or simply curious about a different artistic tradition, this friendly, small-group studio session is a chance to slow down, experiment with brushwork and create something one-of-a-kind to keep.
Please note: this is a special launch price of £20 per person for Sunday 25 October only, normally £65.
