Come into the workshop with everything prepped and ready to go: a 10-inch metal wreath frame and a colourful pile of sari fabric offcuts, rescued and saved from landfill. Now it’s time to turn those scraps into something beautiful!

Dive into the sari scraps and pick your favourite colours, patterns and textures. Mix bold brights, jewel tones and unexpected combinations — there are no rules, so let your creativity lead the way.


Tie, Wrap & Build ✨

Tie, Wrap & Build

Take a strip of sari fabric and tie it securely around the metal frame. Keep adding strips, bunching and layering them as you go. Watch as the plain frame slowly transforms into a wonderfully wild, colourful wreath.


Fluff & Finish 💛

Fluff & Finish

Keep tying until your frame is full and fabulously fluffy. Step back, rearrange the colours and give your wreath a final fluff. Trim any stray threads if needed, then admire your one-of-a-kind creation — made entirely from rescued fabric.

Join Priya Velusami, founder of Pri Pri, for a fun and creative workshop where you’ll make your own beautiful 10" upcycled fabric wreath! You’ll spend two relaxing hours crafting with a colourful selection of sari offcuts, rescued and repurposed from textiles that might otherwise end up in landfill.
Whether you hang your finished wreath on the wall all year round or use it as festive door décor, your creation will be completely unique.
Make Your Own Sari Rag Wreath
Priya will guide you through the process of transforming colourful sari offcuts into a beautiful decorative 10" wreath. You’ll be able to choose from a wonderful selection of fabrics and create a piece that reflects your own style.
No previous crafting experience is needed — this is a relaxed, hands-on workshop suitable for beginners.
About Pri Pri
Priya Velusami is the founder of Pri Pri, a local sustainable brand creating colourful accessories and home décor from pre-loved saris and textile offcuts. Pri Pri aims to minimise waste by giving every piece of fabric a new purpose, while also working with Animedh Charitable Trust in India to support underprivileged women through skills training and employment opportunities.
Pri Pri’s beautiful products are also sold through selected National Trust shops, helping to bring their colourful, sustainable creations to a wider audience.

  • Location: Ground Floor, Wimbledon Quarter, 4 Queen's Rd, London SW19 8ND
  • Level: Beginner-friendly — no previous crafting experience required
  • Materials: All materials and tools will be provided
  • Age Restriction: 10+ (under 16s should be accompanied by an adult)
  • Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended.
  • If you have any accessibility needs, please contact us in advance so we can ensure appropriate support on the day.
  • Please note: small fibres from the sari fabrics can shed and may attach themselves to your clothing. We recommend wearing something you don’t mind getting a little fluffy! Any fibres can be easily removed with a lint roller or similar.

The Preloved Studio is a vibrant community textile hub based at Canons House, created by the charity, Sustainable Merton with a clear mission: to tackle textile waste while inspiring creativity, confidence, and new skills. For the past three years, The Preloved Studio has welcomed people of all skill levels to explore the world of textiles in an accessible, supportive environment.
