Get into the festive spirit with a relaxed and creative Christmas Bauble Cover Crochet Workshop in Ripon!
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll transform a simple Christmas bauble by crocheting a decorative cover and then making it completely your own with a selection of festive embellishments.
The design was originally created as a way of giving those old baubles we all seem to have tucked away in a box a new lease of life – rather than replacing them, we can jazz them up with a little crochet!
During the workshop you will:
  • Crochet your own Christmas bauble cover, with friendly step-by-step guidance
  • Practise crocheting in the round
  • Learn how to shape and finish your cover neatly around your bauble
  • Choose from different yarn colours to create your own look
  • Have fun adding beads, bows, charms, and other festive embellishments to make your bauble completely unique
  • Enjoy a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with tea, coffee, and festive treats
  • Leave with your finished handmade Christmas decoration ready to hang on your tree
Once you know how to make the basic cover, there are so many possibilities. Change the yarn, colours, and embellishments, and you can give each bauble its own personality – and perhaps rescue a few more forgotten decorations when you get home!
The pattern itself is beginner-friendly and uses UK double crochet and slip stitch, although you'll need to be comfortable with the basics of crochet before attending.
Come along on your own or with a friend, enjoy some festive crochet, and create a Christmas decoration that you'll be able to bring out year after year.

I'm a crochet designer, technical editor and tutor with a passion for helping others discover just how enjoyable and rewarding crochet can be.
My designs have been published in Crochet Now, Inside Crochet and Knotions magazines, and I was delighted to design the Crochet Society's 2025 Advent CAL.
Alongside designing, I work as a crochet technical editor, helping designers produce clear, accurate patterns for crocheters around the world.
My crochet journey began during a difficult time for my family. Crafting became a source of comfort and relaxation for my daughter, who lives with a chronic illness, and seeing the difference it made inspired me to pick up my own hook again. Before long, I realised crochet offered me the same welcome escape from the everyday challenges that chronic illness brings to the whole family.
What started as a hobby soon became a real passion. Friends and family began asking me to create handmade pieces, which naturally led me into designing my own patterns. Since then, I've been fortunate to see my work published in several well-known crochet publications and to work with some wonderful organisations within the crochet community.
Today, I combine my design work, technical editing and teaching through CraftingisourJazz. Whether I'm designing a new pattern, editing someone else's work or teaching a beginner to hold a crochet hook for the very first time, my goal is always the same - to help people enjoy crochet with confidence.
I love teaching both one-to-one lessons and small group workshops, either in person or online. My classes are relaxed, friendly and supportive, and I believe there are no silly questions. Everyone starts somewhere, and I'll be with you every step of the way as you begin your own crochet journey.
