Beginner Crochet Course - 3 X 2Hr Session

Join me for a relaxed and welcoming three-week beginner crochet course in Ripon, where you'll discover the joy of creating beautiful handmade items while learning a skill you'll enjoy for years to come.Whether you've never picked up a crochet hook before, have struggled to learn from online videos, or simply prefer learning alongside others, this course is designed to help you build confidence from the very first stitch. With a maximum of just seven participants, you'll receive plenty of individual guidance while enjoying the encouragement of learning in a friendly, like-minded group.Over three 2-hour sessions, we'll cover everything you need to begin your crochet journey, including:Getting started with crochet and holding your hook and yarn with confidence.Mastering the essential stitches, including chain, double crochet, half treble and treble.Understanding crochet terminology and the differences between yarn types.An introduction to reading crochet patterns so you can confidently tackle future projects.Plenty of practical tips and tricks to help you avoid common beginner mistakes.As a crochet designer, technical editor and tutor, I bring real industry experience to every class. My designs have been published in Crochet Now, Inside Crochet and Knotions magazines, and I was delighted to design the Crochet Society's 2025 Advent CAL. I love sharing the knowledge I've gained through designing professionally, but my greatest enjoyment comes from helping others discover just how rewarding crochet can be.My aim is always to create a relaxed, encouraging environment where everyone feels comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. There are no silly questions here - everyone starts somewhere, and I'll be with you every step of the way.Your course includes a beginner's starter pack to take home, so you'll have everything you need to continue practising between sessions and after the course has finished.Each class takes place in a cosy, welcoming venue where you can enjoy tea, coffee, cake and biscuits while you crochet. It's as much about enjoying the experience as it is about learning a new skill, and many participants leave with new friends as well as a new hobby.By the end of the course, you'll have the confidence, knowledge and practical skills to begin your own crochet projects and continue your creative journey with enthusiasm.Parking is available at the venue, making your visit as easy and stress-free as possible.
