Get hooked on crochet with our beginner’s tutorial! Enjoy this relaxing craft as you get to grips with the simple skills you’ll need to stitch beautiful designs, with one of our craft experts on hand to guide you through the steps.

This workshop provides a wonderful introduction to the world of crochet, perfect if you’re a complete beginner. Through the course of the workshop, you’ll learn double stitch and treble stitch. You’ll also be shown how to create a chain, working in rows to create a tension square.

You’ll have a craft kit included, ensuring you’ve got the yarn and hook you need. It’s a great opportunity to pick up techniques you can then put into practice when you move on to other patterns.

Throughout the tutorial, you will be able to ask any crochet questions you may have.

Please note, our workshop spaces in some stores are located in open areas and we will endeavour to minimise interruption from other crafters.

Please contact your chosen store if you are left-handed to ensure the colleague hosting will be able provide the correct support needed alternatively all of our online session's can support a left-handed learner, BOOK HERE

This workshop is also available as a private workshop for group bookings of 4+.

Please note any participants under the age of 16 will require adult supervision. A ticket is not required unless they wish to craft along.

I really appreciated the fact that Hobbycraft still offered the workshop, where other places might have cancelled. The lovely Sharon taught me the basics of crochet. She also adapted the workshop based on how well I was doing and gave me lots of extra tips on how to get started in crochet, including Hobbycraft free resources and youtube videos that could be helpful. I had a really good time learning how to crochet and really appreciated how friendly and positive Sharon was. This is now the third workshop I have attended at the Chesterfield Hobbycraft and I couldn't recommend them more. The team is so welcoming and passionate about the different crafts they offer!
