Cut on the bandsaw

Cut on the Bandsaw

Using a bandsaw, carefully cut out your shape! Bandsaws are a safe and satisfying tool to use - see your design come to life!

Edge sanding

Edge Sanding

Using table top sanding machines, you’ll sand the edge of the boards to refine the shape. We’ve been told by our students this step is very therapeutic!

Drill the handle

Drill the Handle

Using the drill press, you’ll drill out the handle hole for your board. The wood shavings from this step are beautifully tactile.

Orbital Sanding

Orbital Sanding

Using an orbital sander and a bit of hand sanding as well, you’ll get your board super smooth and ready for some oil!

Oiling

Oiling

Using our non toxic and food safe oil, you’ll finish your boards and watch the wood grain come to life! This step is the most exciting because of the dramatic change in the wood!

Finish!

Finish

Revel in the knowledge that you made this beautiful object with your own two hands! Take it home and let it dry over night before using it to serve yourself a feast of charcuterie to celebrate!
