One-to-one Cricut Workshop

Join us in store and talk to a craft expert for tips and advice on your Cricut machine or project!

1 hour Class size 1 on 1       £28

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague one-to-one and ask any questions you have about your Cricut machine! Stuck on a project? Need help with Design Space? Trying to get to grips with using a new material? Our craft expert will share tips and techniques tailored to you.

This is suitable for all Cricut users, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need about your machine. Whether you’re crafting with a Maker, a Joy, Joy Xtra or an Explore machine, you’ll be able to get excellent insight for all kinds of projects. It’s a great way to get a feel for your new machine or learn about features you’re not as confident with yet.
During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Hobbycraft Colleague know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.
You’re sure to walk away a Cricut crafting pro, ready to start making your next big project!

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Please note: If you would like to discuss the Foil Transfer Tool, Knife Blade, “Print Then Cut” feature, “Curved Text” feature or “Offset” we would recommend that you book on to one of our online one-to-one Cricut workshop sessions as we are currently unable to demonstrate these features in-store due to them being for the desktop version of Design Space only.

Please note, our workshop spaces in some stores are located in open areas and we will endeavour to minimise interruption from other crafters.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

  • 4/5 from Dorothy Minors, attended Mar 2026: The teacher was very clear with her instructions/information. I was looking at how to use the design space to make cards. Unfortunately, a cricket joy mat was not available. However, I was able to learn how to design with my own images, cut card and to use a variety of fonts for use with a pen or vynal

  • 5/5 from Janet Cayley, attended Aug 2025: I booked a Cricut workshop, taking my daughter as a guest. We both learnt alot, and now feel quite confident about personalising items for my Granddaughters birthday party. Our teacher, Sharon, was brilliant. She taught us everything we had asked to learn about how to cut iron on vinyl and vinyl, but also much more besides. I will definitely be booking another workshop with her. Thank you so much Sharon.
  • 3/5 from Kathy, attended Dec 2024: Not as good as I thought it would be. We got confused as the tutor was a bit unsure as to what she was doing. We told her we were complete novices and although she tried to cover the basics she would say that we would do this or that on the tablet but then it was not the right thing so she tried something else.
  • 5/5 from Huma Kazmi, attended Nov 2024: Sharon was amazing, very helpful. She covered everything I needed to learn about. Thank you

  • 4/5 from Gilly West, attended Mar 2024: Teacher was very helpful and knowledgeable- would have said great but disappointing that the internet wasn’t working and therefore couldn’t connect to the cricut machine. However I appreciate that this was no-ones fault.

Area was good maybe bar stool sitting would have been better.
  • 5/5 from Joy Gale, attended Aug 2023: Fabulous Cricut lesson, thank you! Liam answered all my questions, gave me loads of great ideas and was enthusiastic like me so made it really fun. Can't wait to get home and try it all out.
  • 5/5 from Richard Wells, attended Jul 2023: My Tutor was Chrisine she was brilliant. I was instructed at a pace that was suitable for me in a friendly but informative way.Christine went through all of the information and let me participate. We used various materials and I managed to produce something. Christine is a credit to the company and should be recognised for delivering an excellent tutorial.
  • 5/5 from Emma Pomells, attended Jul 2023: Lani was incredibly patient and explained everything clearly. It's a shame we didn't have the tools available to try embossing and foil stamping but Lani directed me to useful YouTube videos to look at. I was able to try the iron on vinyl which was the project I was most nervous about, and Lani showed me methods to make the whole process easier. It was a great lesson and I'm ready to get going on my Cricut! :)

  • 5/5 from Michelle Gamble, attended Feb 2023: Brilliant class, Liam was great couldn’t recommend him anymore! Learnt a lot from the class
  • 5/5 from Azmina Laljee, attended Feb 2023: My last Cricut class with Sharon my teacher at Reading Hobbycraft was amazing! She has equipped me with the knowledge that now I could develop my skill even further! My skill since my first class has leaped so much that I can’t put in words but my projects speak for itself. Definitely recommend at least one class with purchasing a cricut machine. One to one class is better as the teacher can focus on your skills and further your knowledge. Thank you Sharon and to Hobbycraft for offering these classes!
  • 5/5 from Jenny Cave, attended Feb 2023: Christine was great and demonstrated how to use vinyl with the Cricut. She was very knowledgeable and helpful and has inspired me to get on using my machine again
  • 5/5 from Azmina Laljee, attended Feb 2023: Her lesson plan was excellent as it covered a lot of material especially what II had requested. I would strongly recommend that anyone investing in a cricut machine must do at least one lesson if not more with Hobbycraft! This way one would make use of the machine efficiently saving time and money! Thank you Sharon
  • 5/5 from Samantha Lusty, attended Jan 2023: Sharon was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. She taught me soooo much! Thank you so much Sharon
  • 5/5 from Carmen Fleet, attended Jan 2023: Thank you Sharon! This training was very informative and helpful. I will be having a go at creating some new designs thank you.
  • 5/5 from Katy Williams, attended Jan 2023: Christine was fab. She had a great knowledge and was very informative. I learnt a lot but like all these things there is so much to learn. I will definitely be back for some more training once I get a bit more practice. Thank you Katy W
  • 5/5 from Azmina Laljee, attended Jan 2023: *Teacher-Sharon excellent and she covered all my questions. *Customers in the store weren’t sure we were staff/workshop? Etc so it would helpful to distinguish the work shop area as they were distracting and the class was interrupted. This happen 3 times. Just an obvious sign saying the workshop in progress would help. You do have this sign but it is not placed where easily visible for customers shopping. Thank you.
  • 5/5 from Ruby Clarke, attended Jan 2023: Definitely was a good idea to do this before starting to use the Cricut maker, teacher was very helpful, friendly and full of good ideas
  • 4/5 from Anonymized Customer, attended Dec 2022: Very helpful for what I needed, great knowledgeable teacher. It would have been better had the Wi-Fi been working on the store device as I wanted more design space help. The issue with Wi-Fi wouldn’t be an issue had it been a regular session. The hour went by quickly so worth having your questions ready. I took my own iPad too as different devices have different layouts. Some very useful tips were given. I would definitely recommend the one to one and hopefully get to book up again.
  • 5/5 from Karen Gathergood, attended Nov 2022: Sharon was really good at explaining the cricut. She was calm when the cricut had a blip and demonstrated using her phone. I left feeling confident using techniques such a slice and offset. would thoroughly recommend and when I'm more confident I will book another class
  • 5/5 from Jackie Hampton, attended Nov 2022: I had a lovely hour this morning in the Reading store which went all too quickly. My trainer allowed me to use my machine and Mac laptop which was brilliant as the system plugged in downstairs was android, this would have totally confused me! My trainer went through all the basics with me, I was given the Cricut by a friend without any instructions so felt this was the best way forward. I had completed the basics on line but this made more sense. I will definitely return when I am ready to put images on fabric.
  • 5/5 from Rachael Grenz, attended Nov 2022: Really useful, with it being one on one I could cover exactly what I needed. Very knowledgeable staff, thank you!
  • 5/5 from Katie Chescoe, attended Oct 2022: The lady knew what she was talking about. It didn’t matter what I asked she would talk me through it all step by step so I understood everything she was talking to me about. Would book again as it’s worth every penny
  • 5/5 from Debbie Coker, attended Oct 2022: I learned a lot. All questions answered at my knowledge level. Will definitely do more sessions
  • 5/5 from Zoe Rose, attended Oct 2022: Sharon was very informative in showing me around a larger machine. She was struggling with the connection which was a frustration for her. The only negative is that it was hard to concentrate with shoppers around us.
  • 5/5 from Abby Denny, attended Sep 2022: I absolutely loved the workshop. I went in there with knowing nothing and came out ready to try a new hobby. My teacher was amazing and covered everything I wanted to know and answered all of my questions. Loved the workshop and the teacher. Environment was great and loved that it was one to one.

  • 5/5 from Alexis King, attended Aug 2022: Sharon was amazing! We learned how to use the Cricut machine in General - focusing on card and Vinyl. Showed us step by step guide. We left with our samples as a reminder. Sharon had kindly given a typed up write up on some of the things we accessed to help jog our memory if stuck. She was amazing and deserves a gold star and a pay rise. Defo value for money and would recommend. We will be booking on to another workshop soon.
  • 5/5 from Sally Hobbs, attended Aug 2022: Absolutely brilliant. Teacher Sharon was very knowledgeable and informative and didn’t hold back with Sharing. Used products to demonstrate which was helpful. Worth every penny. Gave me plenty of time and answered all my questions. Loved it. Thanks Sally
