  • 5/5 from Caroline Everitt, attended Jul 2026: Alice was a fantastic tutor; this workshop was booked for my 11 year old daughter who is a complete beginner in crochet and was joined by a mix of other workshop students of varying ages. Alice was really patient and explained every step thoroughly - the class size was small so there was lots of opportunities for participants to ask questions or get help when they were stuck. My daughter loved the class and, after a bit of practice, is planning to book the next crochet class focusing on making granny squares - she is thrilled that this will be with Alice again! Highly recommend the workshop, such a professional and friendly tutor and a lovely relaxed setting to learn a new skill. Many thanks :)

I felt that we might have had more time to learn a bit more.if they didn't need as much guidance.. Still enjoyed the session.

The materials were good, more than enough wool for practice. On the whole, a very enjoyable 1.5 hours spent.

It was just us two.. she was really lovely, seemed kind and patient especially with my fiddly fingers and questions..She was very knowledgeable and taught me to chain stitch, double, treble and half treble stitch, and how to finish..also how to understand the terms on a pattern.. she spotted and corrected me kindly in a few places when I went wrong and I came home feeling very happy with my crochet ‘square’ with different, very neat stitches! All the things needed ie wool, crochet hook and instructions had been provided by hobby craft and I took them home after..Thank you very much Becky! Definitely well recommend :)

  • 3/5 from Mrs Alexandra Ratcliffe, attended Jan 2025: It took me longer to get some parts and my teacher was showing the two other ladies parts of there crochet and I was not at the same place as them and I had to spend a lot of time waiting which was fine but I did feel like I didn’t really get what I wanted out the course.
  • 1/5 from Angie Taylor, attended Jan 2025: Wow where do I start, I certainly won’t be returning. I have never met such a rude lady as the one teaching us, she made me feel absolutely stupid, when I asked for help, she asked me if I’m actually an adult. It didn’t help that she was convinced I wasn’t booked in even though I had the booking on my phone, she made such a fuss. I came away so downhearted and feel sorry for my mum who bought this as a gift for me as it’s been something I’ve wanted to learn for a long time. I’m sorry but I won’t be recommending hobbycraft classes in the future.
  • 5/5 from Sue Richter, attended Dec 2024: I attended a Beginner's Guide to Crochet. I found the basic stitches quite easy to understand in theory but getting my hands to execute them was a different story! The teacher was very good, patient & willing to repeat steps as often as necessary. The class lasted one & a half hours but the time just whizzed by.

  • 5/5 from Philippa Duffin, attended Oct 2024: This learn how to crochet class was fantastic for a complete beginner like me. The instructor was patient and generous with her attention. I felt at ease straight away and that I could ask anything. I left feeling excited about where my crochet journey would go next, inspired by the talk of blankets, hats and pumpkins. The pack of materials that you get include 2 big balls of yarn, printed instructions to take home (great for when I forgot what to do next) and a crochet hook. The materials plus the time in the workshop make this excellent value for money. I would certainly do another.
  • 5/5 from Karen Viney, attended Sep 2024: Denise was a wonderful teacher! This class was excellent value for money with all the materials provided for free. I have tried before to learn crochet but never succeeded and had given up all hope, but Denise explained it all so simply. I was all fingers and thumbs but with her encouragement and teaching I did it!
  • 4/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Sep 2024: I thought the length of time was good, it didn't drag on but also wasn't rushed. However I didn't feel it was completely worth the money The tutor was very patient and explained well at a good pace
  • 5/5 from Jane Fazal, attended Aug 2024: Our teacher was very patient and explained everything really clearly. Her name was Jay and I would recommend her highly. Unfortunately the store had no record of our booking but she found time for us.
