One-to-one Crochet Workshop

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague in store for a one-to-one and ask any questions you have about Crochet

1 hour Class size 1 on 1       £28

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague in store for a One-to-one and ask any questions you have about crochet. Stuck on a project? Need help with understanding a pattern? Trying to get to grips with a new stitch? Our craft expert will share tips and techniques tailored to you.

This is suitable for crocheters looking for that next step on from our Beginners' Workshops, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need. It’s a great way to gain confidence with your craft, troubleshoot any problems you’re having with your current project in an easy, direct way or learn about stitches you’re not as confident with yet.

During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Artisan know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.

You’re sure to walk away a crochet pro, ready to take your designs to a new level!

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

  • 5/5 from Ria Godden, attended Aug 2026: My daughter absolutely loved this class, she learnt so much within the hour. She has come away able to do basic crochet! 10/10 to Pam. Thank you!
  • 5/5 from Katharine Lewis, attended Aug 2026: Pam is the most fantastic teacher. She was so patient at explaining things to my eleven year old total beginner with plenty of repetition and checking they understood before moving on. Pam also gave opportunity for any further questions at the end which helped with thinking about whether we needed additional hooks/how you knew what size hook for what type of wool. 200% recommend Pam. Photo is of the additional rows completed after the class-the fact they look like the original ones is all down to Pam.
  • 5/5 from Elaine Bristow, attended Jul 2026: Pam was endlessly patient showing my granddaughter Chain Stitch, and once that had been accomplished, Double Stitch. She teaches well by being positive and encouraging.

I feel educated to continue on my journey of learning to crochet . Top teacher I arrived with an abundance of grannie squares I’ve been making since my learn to crochet with Pam, I now feel able to turn them into something to wear.

  • 5/5 from Charlotte Townsend, attended Nov 2025: Pam is such a great teacher and goes above and beyond. We over ran slightly because she wanted to make sure totally knew what I was doing before I left the class. I’m so great for Pam and her kind patient attitude. Thank you so much can’t wait for the next lesson.
  • 5/5 from Sarah Hargreaves, attended Oct 2025: Pam was excellent! I booked a crochet 1-1 lesson for my 9 year old near beginner, with me as an add on friend. Pam was so patient and friendly, correcting mistakes and showing us very clearly the stitches we asked for, tailoring her instruction for what we were hoping to learn to make. I had booked as a one off but we will likely book more. Highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Sarah Catherine Hawkins, attended Oct 2025: Pam was great, tailored the 121 for me to create a gift, good to get a refresher

  • 5/5 from Sue Lunn, attended Jul 2025: I was lucky enough to be given a gift card and it was easy to book. I chose a 1:1 session for crochet and this was a great choice as I had the opportunity to ask lots of questions and get advice relevant to my particular problems with a pattern Thank you so much to Pam at Reading for all her help and for being so patient. The hour just flew by!
  • 5/5 from Rabi Ahmadu, attended Apr 2025: Learned how to crochet, the teacher was very patient and explained the details very well. She’s right handed but was able to explain the left handed way and my daughter understood what she needed to do. She’s been practicing since then.

  • 5/5 from Rachel Fitz-Desorgher, attended May 2024: I booked a one to one crochet workshop as I wanted to get beyond my current beginner stage and start a new project I’d bought. The tuition I was given was excellent and pitched completely at my level and taken at my speed. My tutor was patient and gave me lots of time to perfect my technique. A lovely experience and I plan to book another one to one as I get further on in my project. Thank you.
  • 5/5 from Sanjana Vijayakumar, attended Apr 2024: My niece had a great session. She is already making a handbag using the skills acquired. She is into crochet all the time now. So pleased for the class and great mentoring.
  • 5/5 from Frances, attended Mar 2024: I needed help to read a crochet pattern. Although I could crochet a granny square, I did not know the name of the stitches or follow a pattern. Kathryn was great as she actually crocheted part of the pattern and explained the stiches and terms so I could easily follow her. I would definitely recommend the one to one class with Kathyrn.
  • 5/5 from Sarah Fryer, attended Feb 2024: Pam tailored her tutorial to my daughters needs, went at her pace and took the time to ensure that my daughter had a session she can build upon at home.
