Discover the soul of Malaysian street food through the art of rendang.
In this hands-on cooking class, you’ll be guided step by step in creating rich, aromatic flavours completely from scratch.
During the class, you’ll learn how to prepare:
  • Fragrant Rice cooked in Coconut Milk
  • A traditional Rendang Paste, made from scratch
  • A deeply Spiced, slow-cooked Beef or Chicken Rendang
Along the way, you’ll uncover the secrets behind Malaysia’s most iconic dish — how spices are layered for depth of flavor, how coconut milk is slowly transformed into richness, and why patience is essential to achieving a perfect rendang.
This workshop is designed with beginners in mind, so no prior cooking experience is needed. Ana will guide you through each step with care and clarity, helping you feel confident and comfortable in the kitchen.
Come hungry for knowledge — and leave with practical skills and flavours you’ll enjoy recreating again and again.

Hi, I’m Ana!
I’m a cooking instructor and the founder of LaZat Cooking @ Kuala Lumpur, a school I started out of a deep passion for food and sharing it with others. What began as a love for cooking and entertaining has grown into a meaningful journey, one that’s allowed me to teach thousands of students from around the world.
For me, food is more than just nourishment, it’s therapy for the mind and soul. Growing up in a family of educators, it felt natural to combine my love for cooking with the joy of teaching. I’m especially passionate about preserving and passing on traditional Malaysian recipes that my family and friends have cherished for generations, while also exploring global flavours and techniques I’ve picked up during my travels and time living in places like Thailand and Peru.
Since relocating to the UK, I’ve become actively involved in the local food scene; first in Manchester, and now in London. I’ve worked as a food consultant for Kaya, a Malaysian restaurant, and Tampopo, a well-known pan-Asian restaurant chain, helping to develop authentic, flavourful recipes. I’ve also taught at Tampopo’s occasional cooking classes and continue to teach at Food Sorcery, a respected cooking school in Manchester.
My work has been featured in several UK publications, including the Manchester Evening News, Taste of Manchester, and I Love Manchester, all celebrating the growing interest in Malaysian cuisine and the joy of home-style cooking.
Now based in Northwest Surrey, I’m excited to start a new chapter with Eatzo LaZat (It’s so lazat!), a warm, home-based cooking experience where I’ll be sharing the recipes I grew up with, alongside the global flavours I’ve come to love. Whether you’re new to the kitchen or curious to explore South and East Asian dishes, please join me, and I can’t wait to cook with you, in my home or online.
