  • 5/5 from Amanda Bayliss, attended Sep 2026: Really good beginner’s class, with friendly and clear instructions. We learnt how to complete a chain stitch, double and treble crochet stitches, plus how to turn at the end of a row and change colour. Karen was also very helpful at helping me to understand a pattern I brought in! Very enjoyable session, thank you!
  • 5/5 from Lynne Jonas, attended Mar 2026: An excellent session. The tutor, Julie, was friendly, encouraging and very skilled. She went over the basic techniques in a really supportive way, explaining the variety of ways things could be done and what not to do. I feel really encouraged to continue with my crochet and I know if can call into the shop for extra support and advice if I need it. A really enjoyable session.
  • 5/5 from Karen Wiltshire, attended Oct 2025: Karen was a very patient teacher and repeated as many times as needed. Kit came with very useful instructions on what you had learnt. Well worth the money. In the picture is what I did on the day and above is what I did at home, I know it’s work in progress. I am so pleased as have been trying to learn from other sources to no avail. One very happy customer.
  • 5/5 from Helen Milton, attended Sep 2025: Jo was a brilliant teacher. She showed me how to do the different stitches and the techniques she herself uses, which were invaluable. I had the best time and can’t wait to put what I have learnt into practice! I will be back to purchase wool soon. Thank you Jo for your patience :-)
  • 5/5 from Jenine Lloyd, attended Jun 2025: The teacher was amazing! She explained this very well, was very patient, went at the same pace as me, and showed me the movements as many times as I needed. I was shown a chain stitch, double crochet and a treble. She explained some yarn types and how to workout the size hook required. I'm a complete beginner and thoroughly enjoyed this class and recommend that anyone wanting to give it a go should try one of these. I was given a Hobbycraft bag, the two balls of yarn I used for the workshop, a crochet hook and set of helpful instructions. I also got to keep my crocheting.
  • 5/5 from Becky Hayman, attended May 2025: Great class with a very patient teacher. Learnt both the double and treble stitch. Came away feeling more confident I can give it a proper go. Thank you
  • 5/5 from Stephanie Estcourt, attended Apr 2025: Karen was so supportive and kind, she didn’t mind how many times she needed to go through things. I really appreciated how much patience she had. By the end of the session I felt quite confident and I’ve never done any crocheting before
  • 5/5 from Beverly Gray, attended Mar 2025: Really useful, relaxed, friendly lady doing the course. Good materials given to me in a bag
  • 3/5 from Catherine Brewer, attended Mar 2025: For me I think I would've benefitted from going through a simple step by step guide starting on how to hold the tools and yarn and then slowly doing each step together as I kept fumbling around not knowing what to hold where. My friend did it without even holding the yarn in her hands so I really struggled. I had a go from a you tube lesson later and it focussed on how to hold your hands and then had a little system how to remember which way to turn the hook every time which was easier for me to pick up. It was a fun lesson though and everyone has a different way of learning. Overall it was a good starting point for me though.

Julia was so helpful, kind and patient and knowledgeable about crochet and lots of other crafts. There were 2 of us learning and it was nice and relaxed atmosphere, sat around the making table in the centre of the shop.
