Workshops in London blending Bengali cooking, sewing, and shared meals.

2 hours Class size 1 to 20 guests

£20 - £35 (£20 for Repair and Sewing Workshop; £35 for Cooking Class)

The Stitch and Spoon Social is a weekly gathering in London that celebrates creativity, connection, and care. Each evening brings people together to make, mend, and share food in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
This experience is open to everyone -- no prior skills in sewing or cooking are needed. Whether you’re repairing a favourite piece of clothing or learning to cook authentic Bengali dishes, each session offers a chance to slow down, create with purpose, and meet others who share a love for craft and community.
What to expect:
  • Choose between two creative workshops: Repair and Sewing or Cooking.
  • In the Repair & Sewing Workshop, bring along clothing or accessories that need a little care. You’ll learn how to mend, patch, and personalise your items, picking up practical repair skills while giving your favourites new life.
  • In the Cooking Workshop, join Oitijjo Kitchen’s Head Chef for a guided Bengali cooking class. You’ll discover traditional recipes, master the use of spices, and prepare a selection of delicious homestyle dishes to share.
  • At 7:45pm, both groups come together for a shared meal, enjoying the dishes created in class — a true celebration of making, mending, and community.
Weekly menu highlights:
  • Week 1 (Oct 29): Chicken Curry and mixed vegetable curry with handmade rotis.
  • Week 2 (Nov 5): Tarka daal with seasonal veg, salad and rice.
  • Week 3 (Nov 12): Butternut squash curry and choi pitha dumplings.
  • Week 4 (Nov 19): Aloo kopi bhaji and roti making.
