What you'll do
Learn perfumery from our award winning perfumer, Sarah McCartney, founder of indie fragrance house 4160Tuesdays, and author of The Perfume Companion.With Sarah's guidance, you can explore traditional and innovative materials to create a sustainable perfume at this hands-on Hammersmith workshop at 4160Tuesdays' studio. In this class, you will create a 15ml fragrance of your own to take home. Over two hours, choose from a selection of our professional materials used in classic and modern perfumery. You'll be guided through techniques to improve your smelling abilities, and how to blend a fragrance that you'll be happy to wear. Our workshops are held upstairs in our studio or we can travel to your space by arrangement.You'll smell a range of our ingredients and learn how to blend them with as much help and guidance as you need from 4160Tuesdays' owner and artisan perfumer. We specialise in sustainably produced and biodegradable materials, both natural and synthetic.Please note:
- This is a class for adults. Our studio is a workspace and is not insured for children to be present. We can accept bookings for those aged 15 and above.
- Our classes for groups of 6-10 are in an old building, held in the upstairs studio accessible via a narrow staircase with no handrail. If you need special arrangements please let us know before you book.

If you're seaching for a scent with character, you're at the right place. 4160Tuesdays is an artisan perfumery based in London where we've been hand-making adventurous scents since 2011. We create all our perfumes in small batches of 50-200 bottles at our Hammersmith studio, where we also run fragrance-making workshops. With over a decade of expertise behind us, we've been featured in publications such as Stylist, Marie Claire, The Financial Times and The Independent, and have received nominations at The Stylist Beauty Awards, Fragrance Foundation Awards and the EauMG Awards.Our perfumes are inspired by a place or a person at a certain moment, and created by our perfumer, Sarah McCartney (who isn't related to any of the other more famous McCartneys but she does get asked quite often). Our name? If we live until we're 80, we have 4160 Tuesdays. So on a Tuesday, do something different. At the moment, we're using ours to make perfume.
