Having my own business is the chance to bring my love of African print and ankara fabric to a wider audience.

It all began with evenings making bibs on my sewing machine in the dining room – creating unique handmade gifts for friends and family.

What first started as a welcome break from the pressures of the office, soon turned into a passion to introduce the vibrancy and versatility of the material to an appreciative customer base.

Now my brand By Kala X is a thriving clothing and home decor brand, while I also share my skills through a variety of workshops - from Make Your Own Lampshade to upcycling denim sessions.

I've taken my workshops to both schools and large corporations, where they have been received very positively.

Classes
