Join us for an exciting book binding class in London where you will learn the art of making handmade books.
This workshop will take you through the different stages of making a multi-section handbound book with hard cover, including folding, making endpapers, stitching, spine lining, covering and casing in.
You will learn about paper grain, bookbinding cloths, and different bookbinding tools. You will take home your finished book which can be used as a sketchbook, notebook or journal. All materials will be provided and no previous bookmaking experience is required.
Throughout the class, all materials will be provided, so you can dive right into the creative process. We will guide you step-by-step, ensuring you feel supported and confident as you explore the world of bookbinding.
The class will be conducted in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the craft. As you work with the materials and create your own books, you may experience a sense of calm and satisfaction, as the rhythmic sewing and folding process is known to be therapeutic and meditative.
At the end of the workshop, you will not only have gained valuable skills in some essential bookbinding techniques, but you will also take home everything you've made
