What you'll get

If you're interested in learning the art of bookbinding, this basic kit of hand tools for beginning bookbinder is essential. All of these tools as the same ones used during the teacher's in-person classes, so they're tried, tested and ready for you to enjoy.
Both the basic and deluxe kits contain:
The deluxe kit also contains enough blank and decorative paper to make two A6 notebooks, along with a link to online instructions to help you do so. Everything you need to make books at home!
Please note: the colour of items and decorative paper in each kit will vary. The finished books shown are examples of what you could create with the deluxe kit and are not included.

- An awl.
- Thread snips.
- Three bookbinding needles.
- 10m of beeswax coated linen thread.
- A non-skid steel ruler.
- Your choice of either a bone or bamboo folder.

Hello! I’m a self-proclaimed book nerd. And proud of it. I'm a professional bibliopegist, which means that bookbinding is my pastime, but it’s also my passion and profession.
I’m fascinated by the engineering of books and have an almost obsessive desire to learn and understand new structures.
I work out of a small studio on the idyllic Scottish island of Iona, (if you’ve never been, I highly recommend it; it is, amongst other things, the birthplace of the Book of Kells) where I’ve lived for ten years now. Iona’s landscape – its natural colours of sand sea and rocks – are a huge inspiration to me.
I am an experienced teacher and am excited to share the joys of bookbinding with you.
