It was a really fun time but we didn’t have a teacher, we just grabbed any pottery piece and began painting. Was great!

We had a great time throwing the clay! Only wish we had more time to mould a shape. Would definitely recommend

My friend and I attended our first class and it was so much fun! Quite relaxing and therapeutic to make something with your hands. It was a great session, not rushed and you could be as creative as you wanted. We got the glazed piece in the end! Can't wait to see the final product in a few weeks. Will definitely visit again! Maybe for the unlimited wheel time or painting!

Sasha (instructor) was really good. She first demonstrated what we will be doing, and then helped/guided us individually when it was our turn, and if we had any issues. She answered my questions patiently and made the session really easy/fun. The studio is large, with dedicated area for wheel throwing and pottery painting. It was a really fun afternoon activity, can't wait to see the results of our work after glazing and firing!

I highly recommend this class - the teacher was very friendly and knowledgeable. She helped everyone in the group make a beautiful creation and supported us every step of the way. The description of this class said it is recommended to airdry the items at home, but we were charged the kiln firing fee at the end of the class anyway, so that was a surprise. However, the pieces turned out great and were worth the waiting time for collection. Would go again!

It was good fun and my girlfriend loved it. Would have liked the opportunity to build more than one clay dish, but doesn't mean I won't return at a later date

My pottery class was a birthday present from a friend. I found the tutor ever so engaging and skilled. She's a star! The venue was perfect and the staff attentive and welcoming

Maddison was a great teacher and super enthusiastic. She kept everyone involved and also kept it real throughout. She would often say if requests were realistic but also didn’t shy away from a challenge (e.g. creating an ugly cat, which looked great btw). My partner and I found Maddison really supportive and really encouraging. I would say the ideal class size is 8 people because of the size of the space. Any more than that and it feels a little crowded. We were lucky that the class started with 10 but 2 people left because they had signed up for something different. Seeing the difference it made when 2 people left was eye opening. There was a lot more space and I feel like it enhanced the social aspect too, as there weren’t too many people having conversations between themselves. The added space meant I could actually have space to manoeuvre and that freedom really helped me open up with my neighbours!

The teacher has been incredibly approachable, funny and yet professional. Made everyone feel at ease while still directing us firmly and tecahing us new skills. 10/10 would recommend and come back myself!

It was great! the studio was quirky and I loved it. I’d definitely come again. But there was no clear instructions. Our table didn’t have a poster of Instructions. The ladies next to us saw us painting the bottom of our pots and told us we aren’t supposed too.

Also the price of the pots before the session would be help, to help as have an idea of the costs.

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the Shape & Shade class at Bonbon Pottery with my friend. It was an enriching two-hour session filled with hands-on crafting and learning. The class focused on shaping clay using techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab building. As a beginner, I found the guided learning approach very helpful.

One of the highlights for me was the freedom to express creativity while being surrounded by a supportive group. It was exciting to dig my hands into the clay and experiment with different shapes. I appreciated the option to take my creations home to air dry, which I opted for, as it adds a personal touch to the final product.

For those wanting a more professional finish, Bonbon Pottery offers a kiln firing service for an additional fee. This flexibility caters to different preferences, which I find very thoughtful.

The class is perfect for groups, and they accommodate requests for different schedules if you have at least three people. Overall, it was a delightful experience that combined learning, creativity, and social interaction in a beautiful setting. I highly recommend the Shape & Shade class to anyone looking for a fun and creative way to spend a few hours
