Bertram trained as a cabinet maker in 2010 and runs his own workshop in Dorset designing and making bespoke furniture for private clients and interior designers. His work has appeared in the V&A in London.

He specialises in making free-standing pieces from solid timber and veneers, and also works with a wide range of materials from upcycled components to recycled glass, metal leaf and even natural fibres such as loofah.

A fascination with materials, form and colour underpins his approach to making, and through his courses he is now sharing the joy of creating well-made, functional objects.
