What you'll do
Get in touch with your creative side with this hands-on workshop that will introduce you to the world of linocut art.
You'll be guided from start to finish by a friendly and experienced teacher as you learn how to cut lino blocks into beautiful and personal designs. Not only will you be picking up some tips and tricks on different techniques, but you'll also explore some exciting tools and art supplies.
Bring your own images as inspiration or work with what we have in the studio to come up with carvings you love. You will then learn how to print it onto paper to make wall-worthy art or postcards to give away to friends.
This crafty class is completely beginner-friendly, so no need to worry if this is your first time trying linocutting. You will be surprised by how easy it is to pick everything up. It's the perfect way for you and your artistic pals to find new things to do in London to keep you busy or a unique birthday party idea!
During this linocutting class, you will:
- Get to grips with the carving tools and pick up some basic cutting techniques.
- Experiment with a practice block as you try mark making.
- Transform your imagined design into a creative piece of art, postcard or visual story.
- Learn how to add ink to your lino block.
- Learn how to use the printing press.
Minimum age requirement: 18
