The instructor, Richard, was super knowledgeable and encouraged everyone to ask lots of questions. We got a lot of useful tips from this which was great, as we want to eventually make our own river dining table. You learn how to create a sturdy frame and how to secure this to a base depending on how large your project is, how to work out the amount of resin you need, the best conditions in which to pour and the different ways you can mix colour. There were lots of colours to choose from to use in this course, both translucent and opaque shimmery ones. Would definitely recommend!

You finish feeling like you could make your own one without help because you know exactly what to do. You learn which facts about resin are common misconceptions and which ones are really important. I found it really fun and a definitely coming back for part 2.
• 5/5 from Vikki Spencer, attended Jul 2026: Just completed Beginners Expoxy Resin River course with Richard. It was excellent! I t was given to me as a gift and was very easy to redeem the voucher. I had no prior experience, and don’t think of myself as very creative as a maker, but I loved it. Richard was very clear and precise with instructions and always explained “why” and “what happens if don’t do it like this” - which really helped in building understanding. He also shared stories and experiences of when he had been doing projects. The class was full (12 of us) and the workshop room was small but he was super organised and everything had its place - it all worked seamlessly. Everyone was very friendly, the pace was perfect, enough time to take it all in. It never felt rushed but the time flew. You don’t take away your creation on the day as it needs to set - it can be posted or - as we are doing, going back for Part 2 which involves carpentry, to finish them into coasters and charcuterie boards. A brilliant session - would definitely recommend.

I have done a few of the other woodworking classes available and was recognised by Richard when I arrived. As normal I was very pleased with the theory side of the course which was very interesting. The instruction on mixing and pouring was exceptional and easy to follow. I have already booked part 2 of the course which will be in June. I was pleased with the river board I made and looking forward to the second course for finishing it off. This should be enough knowledge for me to incorporate epoxy to other woodworking projects and others. Thanks again to Richard a very good teacher.

Our fantastic course leader guided us through the creative process with such passion and clarity. I learned so much about how this beautiful medium works, its possibilities, and how to express myself through it. The workshop focused on experimenting with GlassCast clear epoxy resin, exploring its clarity and glass-like finish. I’m pleased with what I made, met wonderful new friends, and laughed a lot along the way. Can’t wait to book my next course — Resin Finishing — and see where this creative adventure leads next!

We started on time and we all signed in and introduced ourselves. Richard was fantastic - very funny, flexible managing everyone’s expectations and so patient, answering everyone’s questions. He had a lot of knowledge about working with both resin and wood. It was actually a super chill class with a lot of chatting. He also got us to actually think about what we were doing by asking us questions back. I appreciated this as I felt like I was actually learning (since I didn’t know any of the answers) and not just being told what to do. I’d 100% recommend this particular class, especially if you’re interested in doing something really creative or wanting to learn how to work with resin and wood. I can’t wait to see my finished product!

As complete novices we were a little apprehensive when we realised some of the others in the group had done some detailed research! I absolutely loved these courses and learnt so much about the processes, materials and playing with the different colours for the 'river'. Richard was awesomely helpful and approachable. As the sessions were back to back, it would've been great to have a quick coffee break as there was a lot to take in. My only other request would be to have a fact sheet covering all that we covered to refer back to - but I believe this is in hand and look forward to any supporting material. I really want to delve deeper into using epoxy resin and start creating my own ideas and am very much looking forward to attending the next course to make a coffee table. Thank you Richard and see you in January 2025!!
