Beginner Pottery Course

Learn to throw pots on the wheel in this pottery beginner class in London.



4 x 3 hours Class size 1 to 3 guests       £220 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Learn to throw pots on the wheel in my private studio based in Wimbledon, London. With just three participants per course, you will have ample time each week for one-to-one guidance from your tutor.
Week 1: Studio overview, clay types, clay preparation, and your first making session
Week 2: Throwing demo covering a wider range of different shapes (mugs, bowls, plates)
Week 3: Turning leather-hard clay to make a foot ring and adding handles.
Week 4: Glaze your work.
By the end of the four weeks, you'll have worked through the full process from preparation to glaze and each participants can take home up to 4 pieces (mug size).
More pieces will be charged at £5/pot (1lb clay) which includes all the materials and firing. Participants can then move onto to Pottery classes for mixed abilities run on Thursdays.

Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 2 guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we may cancel the session; if that happens, we'll inform you and let you choose between a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.
What you'll get
Up to 4 pots (mug and cereal bowl size) will be included. £5 per extra pot to cover the firing/material cost.
