Learn to throw pots on the wheel across this focused four-week pottery course in London – twelve hours of hands-on tuition that takes you from your very first lump of clay to a set of glazed, fired pieces you've made yourself.
With just three participants per course, the teaching is genuinely personal. You'll have ample time each week for one-to-one guidance from your tutor, whether you're picking up a tool for the first time or looking to sharpen throwing skills you've already started to develop.
The course unfolds across four consecutive weekly sessions, each one building naturally on the last:
  • Week 1: Studio overview, clay types, clay preparation, and your first making session
  • Week 2: Throwing demo covering a wider range of shapes, including open and closed forms
  • Week 3: Turning your pots and an introduction to kiln firing
  • Week 4: Finishing outstanding work and glazing your pieces
By the end of the four weeks, you'll have worked through the full process from preparation to glaze – and a collection of handmade pots to show for it.
What you'll get
Up to 4 pots (mug and cereal bowl size) will be included. £5 per extra pot to cover the firing/material cost.
