What you'll do

Have you always wanted to learn how to paint? Start your creative journey here at this painting course as you're taught the ins and outs of this colourful hobby by a talented artist and teacher.

In this series of five painting workshops, you'll mainly be working with water-soluble acrylic paints, but don't worry, all art supplies are provided including paint, canvas, and the still life objects you will be capturing. You'll pick up loads of handy tips and tricks from your teacher including how to use colour and how to progress your artwork from idea to drawing to completion.

As you paint we encourage you to uncover your own unique style. Your teacher will always be on hand for advice, but there is plenty of freedom for you to build confidence as an artist as you get creative in a supportive and warm environment.

By the end of this art course, you will have loads of new skills to put to good use and a feeling of creative satisfaction as you've found a wonderful way to unwind.

During this painting course, you will:

Get to grips with different tools from brushes to palette knives and learn what produces the best results.
Understand how to set up your brushes, palettes, and other tools.
Learn about basic colour theory and colour mixing.
Learn how to paint using water-soluble acrylics.
Work with still life objects as your subject.
Build confidence in producing your first painted pieces of art.

Paint can be messy, so bring a protective apron or wear washable clothes! There will be some aprons available if you don't bring one.
