What you'll do

Join this beginner linocut printmaking workshop in London and discover a wonderfully tactile way to express your creativity. Under the expert guidance of contemporary artist Merve Kahraman, you'll find a supportive space to explore the traditional art of relief printing at your own pace.

You'll be guided through the entire process, starting with how to safely handle professional carving tools before moving on to developing your very own bold design. There's plenty of hands-on help as you ink your carved block and press your unique artwork onto fine art paper. It’s a low-pressure environment where you can switch off from the outside world and focus on the rhythmic, satisfying nature of carving and printing.

During this session, you will:

Learn the fundamentals of linocut printmaking and safe tool handling
Develop an idea into a bold, print-ready design
Carve your own linoleum block using professional tools
Ink and print your unique design by hand
Take home a finished linocut print created by you

Everything you need is set up and ready for you, from the linoleum blocks and inks to design references that will help spark your imagination. Whether you're visiting for a fun afternoon with a friend or looking for a mindful solo activity, you'll find the atmosphere warm and welcoming.

By the end of the workshop, you'll have gained the confidence to continue your printmaking at home. You'll leave with a beautiful, handmade keepsake and a newfound appreciation for this classic craft.
