After years behind the scenes, your teacher has moved beyond the isolation of professional kitchens to create a space where you can build a genuine community. They’ve taken the friendly, open energy of their market stall and brought it into this session, creating an environment where you can bake and connect together.
Your session begins with a warm welcome as you settle in with a drink. To fuel your creativity, a lush, artisanal grazing table will be available throughout the class, featuring a curated selection of treats and savoury bites for everyone to enjoy while socialising. Your mentor will lead a relaxed demonstration, sharing professional secrets for quality and consistency – techniques honed in elite kitchens but shared here with a personal, approachable touch.
Once you’ve found your rhythm, it’s time to head to your station. You'll get hands-on with the dough, guided by expert tips as you craft your own delicious bakes. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a complete beginner, the focus is on the joy of the craft and the people around you.
As the timers ding and the room fills with the scent of fresh baking, you’ll join the rest of the group to admire your work, top up your glass, and keep grazing. How it all started
I spent a long time as a Head Chef in high-end, busy kitchens. I learned how to make great food, but I felt like I was missing the best part: the people! In those big professional kitchens, you’re hidden away and never get to see anyone actually enjoying what you’ve made.
I wanted to change that, so I started my own market stall. I love the market because it’s so personal—I get to see your faces, have a chat, and be part of the community. I decided to start these classes because I wanted to take that friendly "market stall energy" and bring it indoors, where we have a bit more time to bake and hang out together.
Why I love teaching
I love teaching because it’s a chance to share the professional secrets I’ve picked up over the years, but in a way that’s totally relaxed. There’s no "chef ego" here. I love seeing people realize that they can make something delicious while having a drink and a good laugh. It’s about making high-end skills feel like something you can do with your friends on a Saturday afternoon.
