Hi, I’m Paola! I’m originally from Naples, but I’ve been living in England since 1992. Despite the distance, my Italian roots remain at the heart of everything I cook.
I grew up surrounded by food — my family owned a pastry shop, and from a young age I was learning pastry secrets from my father and traditional recipes from my mother and grandmothers. Those early experiences gave me not just skills, but a deep appreciation for the role food plays in bringing people together.
Over the years I’ve cooked in many different settings, including working as a cook on sailing boats — where I learned the value of creativity and adaptability in the kitchen. Living in England has also broadened my horizons, adding international flavours to my repertoire, while my Neapolitan roots keep me grounded in tradition.
Why do I love teaching? Because food is more than just cooking — it’s connection, joy, and memory. I love watching students discover the magic of making fresh pasta with their own hands or realising how simple ingredients can create unforgettable flavours. Whether online or in person, I aim to make each class fun, welcoming, and confidence-boosting.
What makes my classes special is that they’re not just about recipes — they’re about sharing culture, traditions, and the little stories behind each dish. You’ll hear anecdotes about Naples, learn why ingredients matter, and pick up techniques that Italians grow up with but rarely write down.
I may not be a professional chef with Michelin stars, but I bring something different: authenticity, family knowledge passed down through generations, and a passion for teaching that comes from the heart. My students always leave with full bellies, new skills, and a smile.
