Ciao! I'm Silvana and I'm a fourth-generation artisan pasta maker from Naples. My passion is to teach the dying art of making pasta entirely by hand, saving rare pasta shapes from disappearing and helping pasta lovers to recreate the authentic Italian experience, teaching techniques passed down to me by my family.

My grandma taught me everything I know! She started training me when I was a teeny weeny five year old. She's been my only teacher for 17 years, allowing me to earn first-hand experience in her small pasta factory. I can't wait to pass these traditional techniques on to you with my pasta making classes in London and online!

I was featured on BBC2's Inside the Factory TV programme as a pasta expert and have held pasta-making demonstrations in Harrods. My recipes are featured on the online news platform, The Local Italy.

I love teaching and sharing my passion for pasta. I can't wait to show you how to make delicious, authentic handmade pasta in the traditional Italian way!

She was very helpful and had a great personality. She really knew what she was talking about (e.g the history and nutritional values of different pastas).

The class was held in her kitchen, which looked abit small at first, but for 5 people cooking pasta you do have enough room.

The class was easy to follow, we had great fun, forming the pasta dough and making the different shapes.

It might look abit pricey, but for the food, history lesson, nutrient lesson and great vibes, it feels like your on come and dine with me.

So I would greatly recommend anyone to spend cooking lesson with Artisan.

It's like jumping into an Italian family home. Silvana was a lovely host and we really enjoyed the class, the laughs and the stories.
We learned a lot about pasta history and making, plus the dinner we made together was delicious.

Chef has a good knowledge of all things pasta. However needs to be better organised to deliver the artisan experience as advertised.

Superb overall. The art and science of pasta-making well delivered and taught. Dietary preferences of students were also considered. No shortcuts taken to speed up the process.

It was a very engaging and fun evening.
We learnt the art of making pasta.
The secret for buying good pastas.
Made our home pasta from scratch and sauce too.

Silvana our teacher was just great, she was knowledgeable and tue class was interesting and engaging.
The only suggestion would be to maybe declare pasta’s rightful place on the Italian table and showcase regional and sauces rather than sauces just from the north. The pasta itself was delicious, on its own and Silvana was lovely warm and friendly. Thank you.

Sylvana was absolutely awesome! So knowledgeable she took us through the history of pasta, how to buy pasta and a delicious recipe to make at home.

My 7-year old son loved it and wants to go back again and again :)

I can honestly say this was the most incredible cooking experience I’ve ever had. Silvana is an absolute gem! Knowledgeable and patient with us. I could not recommend this more highly

Sylvana is one of a kind. Instantly warm, hospitable, and with an excellent sense of humour - her pasta-making knowledge is second to none.

She took her time to carefully explain the history and techniques behind making pasta, and peppered it with beautiful references to her own family’s deep ancestral roots with pasta making.

Not only do we feel confident in making mouth-watering pasta dishes for ourselves, we also know what to look out for when shopping for that quick fix of dried pasta from a supermarket.

You will not regret giving The Pasta Artist a chance to show off her skills. Thank you Sylvana for an excellent and memorable evening!

A wonderful experience for all - from age 9 to 70. Brilliant to learn in someone’s home in such a casual and “familiar” environment with simply delicious food at the end! Definitely recommend.

We had such a lovely time making pasta! I left feeling like I could definitely make homemade pasta at home by myself, but also with a lot of new knowledge about the history of pasta and how to purchase pasta for myself in grocery stores. The host was clearly very knowledgable about pasta and had a lot of different recipes for pasta and sauces to share with us. It was an absolute blast and a great way to spend the afternoon - thank you so much!

I decided to book this as a Christmas present for his birthday as he loves Italian food and cooking. I'm so glad I booked this instead of other, more cooperate classes I saw advertised. The class was really friendly and intimate her passion and knowledge for pasta was clear. The class over ran by more than an hour, but that time was well spent. We enjoyed learning a lot not only about making pasta but also about it's history and what to look out for when buying pasta in the supermarket. Overall a really great experience!

Silvana was great :) Very intimate and cozy setting; right in her kitchen! Silvana obviously knows what she is doing; while we were cooking pasta from scratch, she took us on history lesson about the origin of pasta and its different varieties. Loved the experience! Highly recommended.
