Argentium Silver Workshop

It’s also hypoallergenic and firestain-free, making it the ideal alloy for both jewellers and manufacturers.The session will be led by Machi De Waard, a renowned teacher and author of "Silver Jewellery Making, " whose expertise will guide you through the versatile uses of this remarkable metal.In this workshop, you will make 2 to 3 projects. We'll begin with a pair of simple fused stud earrings. From there, you’ll have the option to work on either (or both) of these projects: a fused, granulated ring or a textured pendant featuring an overlay wire detail. These projects are designed to highlight the advantages of working with Argentium silver.Through hands-on demonstrations and discussions, you'll learn how to work with Argentium silver. We’ll cover techniques like fusing, granulation, and creating textured surfaces through 3 different projects. We'll also cover topics such as using the correct flux and solder for Argentium, as well as heat hardening and tarnish resistance. The workshop is designed to deepen your understanding of this remarkable silver alloy and show you how it can enhance your own jewellery practice.You’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for Argentium’s capabilities that will allow you to make things that are either very difficult or impossible using sterling silver. It will give you another tool in your toolbox; another option to improve not only your making capabilities but also speed up your production times.
