I’ve always been drawn to design and the way spaces and objects can make us feel. After years working as an interior designer, I found myself fascinated by how scent could evoke emotions and memories after suffering from scent induced migraines for over a decade. This led me to launch Amygdala Home. I’m passionate about creating natural home fragrances that don’t just smell beautiful, but truly create a mood or experience in your home.
A pivotal moment for me was experimenting with my first candle blend at home, I was amazed at how one scent could instantly transport me back to a cherished memory (specifically Moroccan Sunset) and I knew I wanted to share that experience with others.
I love teaching because it’s about more than just candles, it’s about sharing a little bit of magic. Seeing someone’s face light up when they realise they’ve created something unique with their own hands is incredibly rewarding. Teaching allows me to connect with people, guide them, and inspire confidence in their own creativity.
Something special about me that most people don’t know is that I combine my background in interior architecture and design with my candle making. This means I don’t just focus on scent, I consider the vessel, the aesthetic, and the overall sensory experience. Many people are surprised by how much thought goes into every detail of a candle.
I’ve taught numerous workshops, from intimate classes to team-building sessions for businesses, helping people of all levels create their own beautiful products. I hold a BA (Hons) Degree in Interior Design & Architecture, which has been invaluable in my approach to both product design and teaching.
