Alma is an amazing teacher who truly excels at explaining techniques in a clear and approachable way. She was always available to offer tips, guidance, and encouragement throughout the session. The class was super well-organised, making it easy to follow along and focus on creating. Alma’s warm and welcoming personality made the experience even better, especially with the thoughtful treats she provided to keep us energised. I couldn’t recommend this class enough, whether you’re a beginner or experienced, it’s a fantastic way to learn and have fun!

She was very welcoming, gauged well the levels of interest and ability of participants, enabled each of us to put pencil to paper early on and gave helpful comments and assistance as we each undertook our first painting using quality canvases and paints. I would highly recommend Ishbel for painting classes whether for novices like me or for more experienced people.

I used one of the ocean references Alma provided and my partner used some abstract artwork. Both came out amazing with Alma’s help and encouragement.

If you’re a true beginner, this may not be the right class for you. There were not many techniques presented at the beginning and with everyone doing a different painting, it lacked the structure and guidance that a true newbie needs.

The room was full of so many edible treats for a start and very well stocked with all the art materials and inspiration we could possibly want. Having not painted for a while and not feeling very confident, I couldn't have wished for a better environment and teacher. Alma is gentle, relaxed and totally professional. I felt in good hands and I cannot recommend her highly enough. (She's actually too nice and generous- the class ran way over!) I can't wait to book another class with Almarelaxed atmosphere, lovely music. If it's a chilled fun environment you're looking for to rediscover art, or if you're a complete beginner- look no further, you've found your home in Alma! I'm thinking it would make a great group birthday idea or a special treat as a group for any reason. I actually came on my own and bonded with the group who were lovely. Absolute bargain. Can't wait to go again. Thanks Alma!

Hover high above a tropical beach and paint the sand, sea and trees, adding people and surfboards at the end. Really good fun and I highly recommend it.

I learnt about acrylic painting techniques and how to layer with these paints. I learnt how to create 3d effects using an array of colours. The venue was amazing as always..very chilled out and relaxed.
