Abstract Painting Workshop - London

Small Group Acrylic Art Class (Beginner Friendly)

2.5 hours Class size 1 to 4 guests       £55 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Join a small-group abstract painting workshop in London, designed for beginners and anyone curious about a more intuitive way of painting. Using acrylics, you’ll explore expressive techniques in a calm, supportive studio environment.
With a maximum of four participants, each session is personal and relaxed, giving you the space to experiment, take risks, and reconnect with your creativity.
About this workshop
This workshop focuses on expression, intuition, and process rather than perfection or realistic outcomes. It is an invitation to step away from overthinking and explore painting in a more open, instinctive way.
No prior experience or drawing skills are needed.
Many people join these sessions to try something new, return to creativity after a break, or simply spend a few hours doing something hands-on and absorbing.
What to Expect
We begin with loose, expressive exercises on paper to warm up and quiet the inner critic.
You’ll then move on to painting with acrylics on canvas, exploring:
  • Colour and colour relationships
  • Mark-making and gesture
  • Layering techniques
  • Simple composition principles
The session is process-led rather than technical, with gentle, personalised guidance throughout. You’ll be encouraged to experiment and find your own way of working.
Who this workshop is for
  • Complete beginners (no experience needed)
  • Anyone feeling stuck creatively
  • People looking for a relaxed, non-judgemental environment

Hi, I’m Fanny, a professional painter with a background in art, design, and architecture.
My creative journey began with studies in art and design, which laid the foundation for my deep love of visual expression. I later went on to study architecture, where I developed a strong understanding of composition, structure, and spatial relationships. But over time, I felt a growing need to return to a more personal and intuitive way of creating, one that wasn’t bound by rules or functionality.
That need led me back to painting. What I found was a space where I could express myself freely and honestly. I’m passionate about raw, authentic expression, about embracing curiosity and exploration, and letting colour, texture, and gesture speak for themselves. My background in design continues to influence my work, particularly through a strong sense of composition and colour harmony.
I’ve previously led paint-and-sip workshops, but I’m now excited to offer something more personal: small, expressive abstract painting sessions in my studio, where adults can explore, play, and reconnect with their creativity. These workshops aren’t about technique or perfection. They are about giving yourself permission to enjoy the process, try things out, and discover what feels true to you.
I offer guidance and support, but the focus is always on freedom, fun, and expression. Whether you're picking up a brush for the first time or returning to art after a long break, you're welcome just as you are.
