Hi, I'm Jasmine, a Hong Kong-born artist and architect, and the founder of BrushBonheur 樂墨, meaning "the joy of ink."
I first picked up a Chinese brush as a child in Hong Kong, and it has been my quiet companion ever since: through architecture, design, and paintings and writing featured in published journals and exhibitions back home. My architect's eye shapes how I teach: composition, space, and the blend between structure and creative flow.
In my classes you'll discover the unique dance of ink, water and rice paper, and explore both styles of Chinese painting: fine, detailed gongbi (工筆) and free, expressive xieyi (寫意). We paint flowers, birds and seasonal subjects step by step, but there's no single "right" way. Be bold, enjoy the flow, and let a "mistake" become a petal.
Trained in workshop facilitation and Mental Health First Aid, I keep every session relaxed, friendly and welcoming. My approach often combines easy-to-understand structure and creative exploration, adapted to suit each student's skills and pace. Complete beginners, adults and young people are all welcome (enhanced DBS checked).
