- Wheel throwing: learn the fundamentals of centring, opening, pulling walls and shaping cylinders on the potter's wheel
- Trimming and finishing: refine your pieces, add handles and carve texture once the clay reaches the leather-hard stage
- Glazing and surface design: experiment with dipping, brushing and texture applications to bring your pieces to life
- Firing processes: get to grips with how kilns work, including bisqueware and glazeware firings
- Week 1: Introduction to clay, wedging and mastering pinch pots to get a feel for how clay behaves
- Week 2: Handbuilding basics
- Week 3: Introduction to wheel throwing
- Week 4: Refining cylinders and building consistency on the wheel
- Week 5: Trimming bottoms, refining shapes, and adding handles or custom details to leather-hard pieces
- Week 6: Finishing up your foundational projects and preparing pieces for the bisque firing
