  • 5/5 from Nisha Arum, attended Sep 2026: I booked a wheel-throwing workshop as a birthday gift for my mum and going together a month later was the absolute highlight of her celebration. From start to finish, the entire experience was nothing short of wonderful. Upon arrival, we were welcomed into a beautifully decorated, clean, and modern studio fitted with top-notch equipment and stylish furnishings. We were offered a glass of prosecco (or a delicious non-alcoholic elderflower cordial) alongside a selection of lovely nibbles. Starting with a relaxing 15 minutes or so to settle in made the atmosphere feel instantly calm and welcoming. Because it was an intimate session with just three of us, the pace was completely unhurried. Our instructor was everything you could hope for: thorough, encouraging, personable, and genuinely lovely. He struck the perfect balance as a teacher, giving us space to get hands-on while stepping in with helpful feedback right when we needed it. He even shared a great laugh with my mum and made a point to wish her happy birthday. During the class, we learned how to work with clay on the wheel, shaping both cylindrical pots and bowls. Having four attempts each gave us plenty of opportunity to practice and build confidence. Our highlights: Host & Instruction: Patient, encouraging, and highly attentive without ever being overbearing. Atmosphere: Relaxing, beginner-friendly and intimate with no feeling of being rushed. Extras: Generous drinks, nibbles, and personal touches that made us feel valued as guests. I cannot recommend this workshop highly enough. It is perfect for beginners, a brilliant social experience and a fantastic gift for loved ones. We left with wonderful memories and a newfound appreciation for pottery! Can't wait to pick up our pieces in a few weeks!

I’ve always believed that working with clay is more than just making something beautiful. It’s a way to slow down, reconnect with your hands, and find a little peace in a busy world.
My journey with pottery began 3 years ago when I took my first class at college to de-stress and find a moment to connect with myself. From the moment I touched my first lump of clay, I was hooked. There was something profoundly grounding about the process, messy, humbling and full of small victories, and I knew I had found my passion.
Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to honing my craft and sharing it with others.
One of the things I love most about teaching is watching that moment when a student feels the clay respond to their hands for the first time. No matter how many times I see it, it never gets old. Pottery has taught me patience, resilience and the beauty of imperfection and I’m passionate about helping others discover the same.
I feel so grateful to be part of a wonderful local group of talented artists (Art in Dunchurch) and to have had my work included in several group exhibitions. But the most rewarding part of this journey is seeing students leave my class with a sense of pride and accomplishment (and sometimes, a little clay still on their clothes).
Whether you’re curious to try pottery for the first time or looking to deepen your skills, I’d love to welcome you into the studio and help you discover what you can create.
THANKS FOR LETTING ME SPREAD MY LOVE FOR CLAY!
