1 hour Class size 1 on 1     label £25 - £30 (£25 per Child, £28 per Student, £30 per Adult)

If you've been looking for the opportunity to bring your garment-making skills to the next level, this one-on-one workshop is for you! Learning from the comfort of your own home virtually with Claire, an experienced bespoke tailor, you'll take a tour through all aspects of creating your very own garment that fits like a dream.

Whichever part of your project you are at; drafting your pattern onto paper, working with cloth, building up step by step to create your finished garment, or 'simply' sewing in a zip, Claire will be on hand throughout the session to give you the benefit of her years of industry experience, as well as answering any questions you might have about clothes making. These classes are in hour blocks so you can build up how many classes you need. So whether it's sewing a pocket or zip, up to constructing a garment from pattern to sewing in cloth. *Cloth not included.*

  • A dress can take 6 plus hours.
  • A shirt can take 10 plus hours.
  • A jacket can take 20 plus hours.

Though you can choose to only do the bits you need help with the most and carry on with elements at home.

Whether you're coming along yourself or treating someone to the class as a gift, it's a fantastic way to build on your existing sewing skills, learn in a relaxed, welcoming environment, and have some fun with ethical, sustainable tailoring.

My name is Claire and I am The Ethical Tailor. I am the founder of Moxie Craft and Couchman Bespoke an ethical tailors based in Canning Town. I grew up in Harlow, Essex with a creative mother and an entrepreneur father. After gaining a BA(Hons) degree in clothing design and tailoring from Brighton University, I ventured into the world and set up my company to combat the inequalities of the fashion industry I had been subject to.

By creating zero waste through pattern cutting, natural dyeing and sourcing the most sustainable cloth and haberdashery we aim to have very little negative impact on the planet and local people.
Now with 20 years of retail knowledge and 14 years of tailoring experience behind me, I feel confident in my ability to produce clothing that is timeless. Clothing construction is a great passion of mine that sits juxtaposed with a strong interest in the environmental impact of the clothing and textile industry. I aim to be a contributing factor in helping to reduce the environmental impact of the fashion industry whilst educating people about the issue through my workshops and trading fairly within the supply chain.
